Department of Mass Communication produced the last person that came out with First class degree in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) in the year 2012 and in the person of "Chidi Iloamaeke".
  According to records, only two other persons had bagged First Class Degree from that Department since the inception of the institution about 16 years ago and they are "Ike Nwakerendu" in 2005 and "Charity Maduadichie" in 2006. He got to that height with a 4.50 CGPA, in a department where only the very best can boast of a First class degree.
   Chidi was also the best graduating student of the Faculty of Social Sciences that same year. He is now excelling in the Oil and Gas Industry, based in Abuja.
