There was drama in the morning of Saturday, November 18, at a unit in Igwebike, where Godwin Ezeemo, the candidate of the Progressive People Alliance (PPA) was supposed to vote with his wife as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were not on sight.
Many voters who had arrived the unit remained stranded and insisted that the election in there area must be extended beyond the legal time for the exercise.
The materials reportedly arrived the unit five hours late.
However, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports a massive turnout of voters in various polling units in the three senatorial zones of the state.
The media organisation said voters were seen in most of the polling units visited as early as 7.30 am waiting to be attended to by the electoral officials.
