Emerging Trend of Teachers Raping Pupils: Are Your Children Safe?

In Enugu, police detectives have arrested one Idoko Nathaniel, a primary school teacher in Enugu State for allegedly raping his female pupils ages 5 and 6.

Idoko Nathaniel, 50, is a headmaster in charge of Migrant Farmers Children School located at Aguibeji Enugu Ezike in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State. He is alleged to have raped more than 4 school children all below the age of 7.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, one of the children he had defiled told her parent what transpired at school and that led to his arrest. 

He adds that Idoko is now asking for forgiveness. He claims it was the devil that used his fingers on the private parts of the four female school pupils which inflicted serious injuries on them.

Questions I ponder are as follows...

Are these new developments OR have since been going on?

Research say these were occurrences that happened in the past and were even found out. 

However, those days many like today use the silence culture - in the guise of protecting the family name would keep this silent. Sometimes the victim was blamed. 

How do we even discern when people supposed to protect and nurture the kids go ahead to defile them?

We have serious issues on our hands. A grave danger everyone must take on board to solve. 

That is the only way to keep our future generations safe.
